Cabo San Lucas, has beaches on two separate ocean fronts, the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of California also known as the Sea of Cortez. Some beaches are better suited to swimmers than others, due to swift ocean and wind currents.
Beaches
Playa El Medano (The Dune Beach) - This is the main beach here in Cabo San Lucas. This is where you will find most of the beach front hotels and restaurants. This beach offers a safe swimming environment for everyone to enjoy. It is here also, that you may find an array of activities to suit a variety of needs. You will find things such as watercrafts, catamarans, sea kayaks, Para sailors, and many more. This particular beach stretches over two miles providing adequate room for everyone, and is great for the avid beach runner. You will find access to this beach at the Harbor or through any of the hotels and restaurants along the way.
Playa del Amante (Lovers Beach) -This exclusive beach is hidden inside a cove and is only accessible through some sort of floating transportation. You can hire a water taxi at the marina and they will take you to the elusive beach, which includes a tour along the way. If you make arrangements the taxi will come pick you up later that day. Be sure to bring your own lunch! This beach is full of beautiful rock formations and can be quite an adventure.
Divorce Beach -This beach is located on the Pacific side of Lover's Beach
Playa Solmar -This beautiful white sand beach faces the Pacific Ocean. Playa Solmar runs from the rocks at Land's End to the base of Pedregal to the west. Swimming here is dangerous because of strong currents and winds.
